What is the QANTM Media in Schools Program?
QANTM College works in partnership with private and public schools throughout Australia to deliver nationally accredited training courses to teachers and students in the field of digital media. QMIS introduces students to a broad range of practical and theory-based units that encourages them to explore and analyse techniques, issues, trends and developments in the world of digital media. The QMIS program facilitates the delivery of digital media training in secondary schools by providing an all-inclusive education package that benefits teachers, students and the school community.
This three-part program offers a number of flexible options for delivering the programs within schools:
Benefits of the QMIS program
For Teachers
Teachers can access comprehensive resource packages, via the QMIS website, which require minimal teacher preparation. QMIS also provides full support for teachers to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver the program, through online training to a Certificate II, III, IV or Diploma level. This involves support from qualified QANTM College online staff, as well as discounted professional development fees for teachers at schools involved in the QMIS program. Ongoing support is also available to teachers during the day-to-day delivery of the program in the school.
For Students
The three levels of qualification offered by the program provide excellent pathways to further study and post-school options, with QMIS students gaining direct credit transfer into higher-level courses offered by QANTM College and other institutions.
For Queensland schools, QMIS unit results can be included on the current Senior Certificate and in future, will assist students in gaining credit towards the new Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
The certificate courses also offer potential entry-level employment opportunities, such as traineeships, within the various multimedia and related industries.
For Schools
QMIS is a well-established, flexible program that can be tailored to meet the needs and requirements of the individual school.
The program offers a sound solution to the increasing need for schools to provide Vocational Education within the school curriculum, which will assist in the development of its students.
